Responsibilities
• Establish and implement processes and controls regarding the development of engineering-related documents to ensure product compliance with codes, industry standards, and customer contracts, as well as compliance with Company policies and the Company’s quality system.
• Act as the process owner for the Company’s engineering procedures and work instructions and ensure that such documents optimally suit the Company’s business.
• Review technical requirements of customer contracts and relevant codes and ensure that such requirements are correctly conveyed into manufacturing, including via appropriate welding procedures, MIS/JIS, work instructions, and drawings.
• Ensure that project, quality control, and production teams have a good awareness of key technical requirements in customer contracts.
• Review technical requirements of key bids and ensure that appropriate qualifications are raised at the bid stage where compliance may not be possible, or may affect pricing or where there are important errors or conflicts.
• Manage the production of all documentation to a consistent standard of quality and conformity. Establish and implement appropriate engineering standards, and ensure that internal documentation is managed to a similar high standard as compared to external (customer) documentation.
• Manage the Company’s technical library, including third-party documents and references, as well as internally generated documents, references, and intellectual property.
• Ensure all machinery and equipment have appropriate documentation generated, including operating manuals and drawings, and that these are contained in the Company library and available to appropriate Company personnel (including Maintenance and Production).
• Manage the engineering design and drafting teams, including task assignment, administration, quality/workmanship, and priorities.
• Liaise with and engage specialist external engineering resources as required, and manage utilization in accordance with approved budgets.
• Prepare technical data sheets for materials and consumables as per project requirements.
• Ensure the materials procured are as per project specification and Code/Standard and approve the MTC’s prior release from vendors. Customer property is also reviewed and approved as per Code requirements for handling ASME projects.
• In conjunction with the Quality Department, and working with the QA System, qualify Vendors with special process and technical aspects to their supply or services (e.g., welding, PWHT, laboratory testing) by performing technical reviews and audits.
• The scope of this position includes all engineering and technical requirements for customer projects as well as internal projects.
• Comply with existing safety and health regulations (wear all PPE as required by superiors).
• Comply with Quality Management System, OHSAS, and other systems required by the Company.
• Review and approve Engineering Documents.
• Manage the engineering team within the annual engineering budget.
Qualifications
• Minimum Engineering degree or equivalent graduated in Mechanical, Welding or related Engineering field.
• Minimum 10 years in cladding and/or CRA related activities in a leadership position.
• Fluent/understand organization related tools and processes.
• Familiarity or proficient in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Presentation) and Adobe editor.
• Good communication ability and interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in business English communication in both written and spoken.
• Quick learner, good analytical skill, and complex problem-solving ability
